During my time working for an Israeli tour guide, we prepared tours for an annual medical conference at Shaare Tzedek. This conference was a meeting between rabbis and doctors to discuss halacha in light of new medical procedures. The rabbis clearly recognized the need to address halachic views in a swiftly changing world.

Thoughts of Redemptions ~ Visions of the Prophets
We are told that during the period of Israel’s Prophets, there were many prophecies—thousands. Some were written for posterity, and some were not. The difference was that some prophets were only speaking for their own time, concerning certain situations; those were not written down. The ones that were written down were speaking to their own generation, as well as to generations to come. Those prophecies had reverberating meaning, some to the very End of Days.
