You, my brother and soul mate, have asked me to show you the pathway to the Names of the Ever-Blessed God so you may derive what you will from them and reach the place that you desire.  Even though your enthusiasm is far greater than your question, I still feel compelled to divulge to you the way the light is disseminated and how God wants us to reach it.  When you have learned this, then God will answer when you call.  You will be one of those who are truly close to Him and you will love Him with all your heart.  Yes, you will delight in YHVH, and He will grant you all you ask. 

With this lovely passage, Rabbi Joseph Gikatilla begins his Introduction to Sha’are Orah ~ Gates of Light, inviting his student to embark on the most praiseworthy journey of his soul.  The Vilna Gaon called this book THE portal into understanding Kabbalah.  Each chapter goes through the sephirot, one by one, illustrating their connections to each other and with the associated Divine Names.  The author references many places throughout Biblical text that the Names are used, enhancing and deepening the reader’s understanding of the many levels of the Torah’s depth.  His words come down to us through the centuries, inviting each of us to join him on this most praiseworthy journey.  We look forward to new adventures in learning Torah in the coming year and hope you will join us on the journey.

This new year, beginning Oct. 4, I will be teaching live classes in the Zoom classroom on Monday nights from 7:00 to 8:00 Central Time.  We will also be offering video recordings, or audio only, of each session.
